About the Alumni Legislative Committee
The CSUMB Alumni Association Legislative Committee was created in Fall 2008 to better advocate for the interests of CSUMB Alums and future Alums. The committee’s goals are to support and promote CSUMB legislative priorities. The Committee is non-partisan and does not advocate for or against legislation unrelated to alumni or future alumni. The Committee works with Associate Vice-President of External Affairs to develop strategies for advocacy.

Alumni Advocate of the Year
With close to 2 million alumni in its ranks, the California State University has one of the largest networks of advocates in the country. Each of the California State University's 23 institutions relies heavily on its advocate base to build support for the university at the local, state and federal levels. The CSU's alumni advocates play myriad roles, from establishing relationships with key influencers to lobbying legislators and Congressional leaders to raising awareness of the university's programs and services. They are vital in helping the CSU advance its mission.
The California State University Alumni Council has chosen to recognize one alumni advocate from each campus who has demonstrated an outstanding level of service and commitment to the university. These individuals are honored for their contributions. These alumni help to make the California State University an outstanding educational system. We are grateful for their dedication.
